Dear National Honor Society Candidate,

Congratulations!  You are receiving this letter because you were selected by the Faculty Council to continue as a candidate in good standing in May.  As a senior and a candidate in good standing of the National Honor Society, you are eligible to become a member of Chapter 3566 of the Belleville West National Honor Society at the end of this year.  Your candidacy senior year is contingent on maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 at the end of your this (your junior) year.  We are certain that you will continue to excel in leadership, service, scholarship, and character in the coming year.

In an effort to clarify the role and function of the National Honor Society at Belleville West, we feel it is important for you and your parents to revisit the organization’s guidelines. It is important that you understand the deadlines and time commitments required of each candidate.   Please make sure that you read all paperwork and policies enclosed as some are different than junior year.  As senior year is often very hectic, it is important to plan ahead to complete your service hours.  Don’t allow yourself to get caught up trying to squeeze them in at the last minute and then fall short.

If you plan to continue to honor these commitments and guidelines of the National Honor Society, please complete the enclosed Senior Update and return it to Mr. Hentze or Mrs. Quandt at Belleville West by Friday, August 24, 2007.  The survey must be turned in and signed for by the appropriate sponsor in person.  Mr. Hentze is the sponsor for members with last names A thru K; and Mrs. Quandt is the sponsor for members with last names L thru Z.  A check for dues in the amount of thirty dollars should accompany your Senior Update.  Checks should be made out to “Belleville West”.    Senior dues help to cover activities throughout the year, as well as pay for senior gold cords for graduation.

If you have any questions about your paperwork or completion of hours, please call 222-7500 for Mr. Hentze (ext. 4506) or Mrs. Quandt (ext. 4515).

Sincerely,
