Dear National Honor Society Candidate,
Each year, select students are inducted into the Belleville West Chapter 3566 of the National Honor Society. To be considered for this honor, certain qualifications must be met. Each candidate must possess outstanding qualities of leadership, service, character, and scholarship. The fact that you have received this letter verifies that you qualify in scholarship by having a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher. A Faculty Board will evaluate your qualities of leadership, service, and character based on the enclosed Interest Survey and faculty recommendations.
In an effort to clarify the role and function of the National Honor Society at Belleville West, we feel it is important for you and your parents to understand the organization’s guidelines. If you are interested in pursuing candidacy in the National Honor Society, please bring this letter to the Principal’s Office at Belleville West to pick up your information packet. Each candidate must personally sign for his or her information packet. Family members and friends will not be allowed to pick up packets for candidates. The Principal’s Office is open from 8:30AM until 4:00PM Monday through Friday. Packets will be available until Friday, August 17th.
Read the information packet carefully. It is important that you understand the deadlines and time commitments required of each candidate. If you are willing to accept these commitments and guidelines of the National Honor Society, please complete the Interest Survey from the information packet and return it to Mr. Hentze or Mrs. Quandt at Belleville West by Friday, August 24, 2007. The survey must be turned in to the appropriate sponsor and a log sheet must be signed by the candidate personally. Mr. Hentze is the sponsor for candidates with last names A thru K; and Mrs. Quandt is the sponsor for candidates with last names L thru Z. A check for the non-refundable thirty dollar application fee should accompany your application. Checks should be made out to “Belleville West”.
Please do not mail the application to the school. Completion of the application does not guarantee acceptance into the National Honor Society. If you have any questions, please call 222-7500 for Mr. Hentze (ext. 4506) or Mrs. Quandt (ext. 4515).
Sincerely,
Brandon Hentze
