Announcements for Thursday, September 5, 2013

 Science Olympiad:  Do you like science? Do you like to compete? Come try your skills in Science Olympiad. Our very first meeting will be Thursday, September 5 in Q306 from 3:30-4:00. This will be an informational meeting where we will go over this year’s events and determine the date/time for future meetings. Please stop by and let me know your preferences if you cannot attend the scheduled meeting.

Seniors: Have you taken your senior yearbook photo yet? Approved studios are currently taking photo appointments, and all studio information is listed on East's website. Don't delay, get your picture today, and make your sure you reserve a spot for your senior photo in the 2014 yearbook! See me in D305 with any questions. ~ Mrs. Coughlin

 

Students: Are you interested in attending the University of Kentucky? The University of Kentucky will host an informational Preview Night on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. The presentation will be held at The Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis, Mo. Please me if you have any questions. ~ Mrs. Sears

 

Students: The soccer team is collecting used soccer equipment to donate to Fields of Dreams Uganda. Please come to a home soccer game and bring equipment to donate.  ~ Coach Lasley

 

Students ~If you are a junior or senior and would like to tutor during your lunch hour and could not make the meeting last Friday morning, please see Mrs. Blomberg in the library during hours 3,4, or 5 .   Tutors can access handouts and sign-up information in the STUDENT RESOURCE FOLDER/ Clubs & Activities / TUTORING folder. No students will be allowed into study hall tutoring without a pass from a teacher. Students, please go directly to the library during your study hall time.

Student Council ~ Student Council will be meeting every Wednesday morning in September in D102. Please arrive by 8 a.m. so that you can get attendance points for the meeting. If you have questions, please see Ms. Dean in D206

Model UN ~ Anyone interested in participating in Model United Nations please attend an introductory meeting after school this Thursday the 5th in F205 at 3:30 PM. This meeting is for both prospective and returning members. ~Mr. Novaria

Debate ~ Students interested in joining the debate team: there will be an informational meeting next Thursday, September 12 at 7:00pm in D201. This meeting is for students and their parents to find out what is involved in participating on the debate team. If you have questions, see Mrs. Harms in D201.

Attention all Juniors and Seniors: Anyone interested in joining English Honor Society should see Mrs. Byrne or Mrs. Lillard for an application. Applications are due at the end of the school day on Friday.

 

Students ~ You are not allowed to enter the buildings or hallways until 8:15 am. Students needing to see teachers before school will need to have a pass from that teacher, otherwise you will be directed to wait outside until the 8:15 bell.   Thank you for your cooperation. ~ Mr. Brown

BASIC & Lancers For Change ~Our first meeting will be held on September 9 at 8am in S 106. New members welcome! Thanks ~Mrs. Nesbit & Mrs. Schulte

Fan Bus ~ There will be a Fan Bus for Fridays football game at Jefferson City High School. Permission slip with money will need to be returned to the Main Office by 9 a.m. Thursday September 5th. Permission forms are in the Main Office. The cost is $7.00 for the bus (additional money will be needed on September 6th to purchase an entry ticket to the game).

Lancer Book Club ~ Please stop by room S105 to pick up your book choice form. Forms are located in the folder in the marker tray. Thank you. Mrs. McIlwain

Students ~ Are you looking for a club or sport to join this school year? Come on out to our beautiful Central Terrace this Friday during all lunch hours for the Club Rally. There will be 24 different clubs and sports set up at tables for you to learn about and even sign up to join. There is no better way of enjoying high school than being part of a club or sport. Join a club, get involved and have fun! ~DECA

Attention STRIDE Members ~ Our first meeting of the year will be Monday September 9th at 3:30 in S200. New members are always welcome to attend~ Mr. Boyt and Mrs. Ainsworth

Attention All Math Team Members~ This year we are going to order shirts with Belleville East Math Team on the fronts and a "catchy" math phrase on the back. Be creative and submit your logo for the back of the t-shirts to Ms. Thessing's room, A219, by Monday, Sept. 9th. The winning logo will receive a GRAND PRIZE.

Attention Senior Olympians!! The lists of the students for each time will be posted next to Q213 with the names of the coaches for each team. Each team will be meeting next week, so listen for the announcements or be sure to check your email ~Mrs. Downs
